ABOUT ME

Welcome to my writing portfolio! I'm Lia—a Master of Public Health student at the University of Washington with a passion for research, storytelling, and community impact. My work bridges communications, public health education, journalism, policy research, and community organizing. I am especially passionate about tackling the loneliness epidemic in the U.S., and advocating for programs and policies that strengthen the social infrastructure and connections that form thriving communities.

During my public health studies, I've had the privilege of working directly with communities to address population-wide health challenges. Beyond public health, I bring experience in digital marketing, journalism, and social media strategy, using communication as a tool for education, advocacy, and engagement.
My academic foundation in philosophy and ethics has shaped my approach to research, writing, and problem-solving. Skills like critical thinking, logic and reason, and open-minded analysis drive my commitment to truth-telling, accuracy, and high-quality research in all my work.

This portfolio includes dedicated sections for my work in journalism and undergraduate work in philosophy. Thank you for visiting!
